Quarantine Station
Quarantine Your Kids!
Allow your students to explore this amazing site steeped in over 150 years of history - Australia's migration story and personal journeys interrupted by quarantine.
Located at the entrance to Sydney Harbour, the former Quarantine Station now Q Station Retreat, is one of Sydney's most unique historical and educational sites. Just 30 minutes ferry ride from Sydney CBD or 5 minutes drive from Manly, the Quarantine Station provides a fun educational experience for young and old.
The Quarantine Station's education programs, exclusive to school excursion groups, offer a diverse range of stimulating and interactive programs suitable to primary, secondary and tertiary students. The programs offer teachers a resource to complement the key learning areas of English, HSIE, PDHPE, Drama, History, Science and Biology. Our programs have been created to challenge students to learn from history so they can make informed decisions in the present and for the future.
Each program includes a comprehensive Teacher's Resource Kit with pre and post excursion activities and reference material.
Programs are available as 1.5 hour to full day experiences and can be customised to suit your particular area of interest. School holiday programs are also available for Vacation Care Centres.
As the sun goes down and the site takes on a more mysterious atmosphere, our school group Ghosty Tours can begin. A little less historical but lots of fun!
All education program tour guides have completed the working with children checks and Q Station Risk Management Plan is available from our website.
