Providing Forest education programs in the Toolangi Forest Discovery Centre since 1994, the Toolangi Forest Education Service is ideal for supporting the learning of students of all ages. Toolangi Forest Education Service programs will enable students to experience the natural environment and appreciate the important role that they have in achieving sustainable living now and in the future.

The Toolangi Forest Education Service aims to enable teachers and students to better understand the distribution, ecology, use and management of forests in Victoria.

The major focus of the Forest Education Service is primary and secondary students and their teachers in Victorian schools. The Forest Education Service also caters for tertiary students and the broader community.
From a school perspective, the study of forests can address a wide range of learning outcomes, provide students with the opportunity to develop an understanding of forest ecosystems and also encourage students to develop their own opinion regarding current management policies and practices.

Materials and programs developed by the Forest Education Service are relevant to current educational policy including the Victorian Essential Learning Standards and Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) programs.

Detailed outlines and worksheets of all programs offered are available on our website and are correlated with Victorian Essential Learning Standards, or programs can be tailored to meet specific needs.
